Tidewater’s New 220 CC
Capt. Ted Lund
Coastal anglers looking for a new angling platform need to look no further than Tidewater’s new 220 CC.
At 22-feet, 2-inches, the new offering from Tidewater features ample freeboard – 25 inches at the stern and 32 inches at the bow. Its roomy 8-foot, 10-inch beam gives anglers plenty of room to work.
Tidewater’s newest offering also features several ground-breaking industry firsts, including their Proprietary Easy Pump Access (EPA) – a voluminous in-deck compartment located behind the leaning post offering access to all live well and wash-down pumps (except the bilge pump) for easy inspection, maintenance and replacement. Forward of the leaning post, the console features ample below-deck storage for gear or an optional Porta Potty.
Moving towards the stern, boaters will appreciate the recessed, low-profile floor drains which prevent standing water and eliminating mold and mildew in hard-to reach gutter areas. Although most vessels in this class feature 6-inch cleats, the 220 cc comes standard with five flush-mounted, 8-inch cleats – making it a breeze to tie off with all but the heaviest of dock lines.
Fishing amenities abound aboard the 220 CC. Anglers specializing in live bait fishing for anything from tarpon to redfish and striped bass will appreciate another Tidewater exclusive – the 25-gallon proprietary Blue-Life live well. Gel-coated blue to keep bait calm and help it last longer, the well also features rapid turnover via high-speed pumps to make sure mullet, pilchards or bunker are getting plenty of highly-oxygenated water.
Expensive spinning and conventional outfits are protected by Tidewater’s exclusive Rod Protection System (RPS). Six in-gunnel storage racks with foamed in rod tubes keep your investments secure, protected and out of the way.
Whether diving, tubing or just enjoying a day at the sandbar, each 220 CC comes standard with recessed trim tabs and a walk-thru door located on the port side transom for easy entry and exit from the water.
Each Tidewater 220 CC is outfitted with SeaStar Hydraulic Steering as a standard option, and like the entire Tidewater Line, the 220 CC is powered by reliable Yamaha 4-stroke outboard technology.
